Dear AmericanHort and Industry Members:
March 23, 2020
The AmericanHort staff and board of directors are working on initiatives to support and assist our members and the green industry. While we are experiencing significant uncertainty today, we believe the prospect of convening Cultivate in July will come into better focus in the next few weeks.
Today we are working to support our members as we navigate the changing business conditions, small business stimulus packages, and economic challenges ahead. We are working diligently to keep our industry supply chains flowing where appropriate. In all decisions and activities, we encourage our members to take the necessary precautions needed for employee and community health.
We are tracking the latest information and resources to help you manage your business. You can find updates at the AmericanHort Coronavirus Resource Center that we are updating on a frequent basis.
We want to help our industry recover quickly and be ready to do business when the current threats have subsided. Cultivate’20 could play an important role. Our staff will be in consultation with the AmericanHort board of directors and key industry stakeholders regarding our association priorities and the feasibility of Cultivate in July.
We plan to provide direction on the status of Cultivate’20 on May 11. At that time, we will clearly outline all processes moving forward for exhibitors, sponsors, attendees, speakers and volunteers. This will include any program updates, reimbursement processes, or other details based on the event decision. Should we have decisions sooner than this date, we will let you know.
We appreciate your patience as we assess the possibilities for Cultivate’20, an event that has long proven to be a source of information, idea sharing, and connecting with industry peers. It may be just what we need to map a plan forward as we come out of this difficult time.
We hope you, your family, and your business stay well.
Ken Fisher and the AmericanHort staff
